The New Market Rebels are a baseball team located in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. They are one of the 11 teams that comprise the Valley Baseball League. The Valley Baseball League provides top tier college players the opportunity to play summer baseball against their contemporaries using wooden bats. The league is sanctioned by Major League Baseball and is used as an additional venue for MLB scouts to watch and evaluate promising young players. The Rebels play at Rebel Park located in New Market, Virginia. The Rebels have a long and storied history and are a source of pride for the local community. Unlike many of the teams in the VBL which are owned and run by single investors or ownership groups, the New Market Rebels are a community owned and operated team. Beginning in 2011 all of the teams in the Valley Baseball League are operated under a non-profit status.
